Three steps

From install to your first hint

The chess site is detected for you. In normal use there are two choices: how the hint appears and how strong the move is.

  1. 01

    Install the extension

Download the regular version from this site, unpack the archive and add ChessNavio to your browser once.

  2. 02

    Open your chess site

The site is detected automatically. Start your own game or a training session and wait for your turn.

  3. 03

Get a hint you can follow

Read the main move, the idea and the alternatives next to the board, or try to solve the position yourself first.

Your position stays with you

The analysis runs on your own computer.

While you are playing, positions and hints are not sent to a server. Finished games reach your account only after you turn that on yourself.

Questions

Common questions

Does ChessNavio play for me?+

By default it shows the idea and the alternatives, and you make the move. Auto-move is a separate setting you have to turn on. Check the fair-play rules of your chess site before you use any of it.

Is my position sent to a server?+

No. While you are playing, the position, the hints and the calculation stay on your computer. Local history is kept in your browser. Sending finished games to your account is a separate setting.

How many games are free?+

With an account, Free gives you 3 games or training sessions with live hints every 30 days. Reviewing a PGN or FEN on the review page does not count against that.

Can I buy Pro?+

Yes. Pro is $1.99 for 7 days or $4.99 for 30 days, paid once. You pay on the secure Robokassa page; a card is never entered on chessnavio.com. Automatic renewal is not offered on this site. Installing the extension, the Free allowance and game review stay free.
