Installing, your data and plans
Short answers about installing, access, your data and the chess sites that are supported.
Does ChessNavio play for me?+
By default it shows the idea and the alternatives, and you make the move. Auto-move is a separate setting you have to turn on. Check the fair-play rules of your chess site before you use any of it.
Is my position sent to a server?+
No. While you are playing, the position, the hints and the calculation stay on your computer. Local history is kept in your browser. Sending finished games to your account is a separate setting.
How many games are free?+
Free gives you 3 games or training sessions with live hints every 30 days. Separately, you can import up to 50 of your Chess.com and Lichess games per period, start the trainer with 10 new tasks and then receive 3 new tasks a day; assigned reviews always stay available. Reviewing saved games, a PGN or a FEN does not use that allowance.
Can I buy Pro?+
Yes. Pro is $5 for 30 days, paid once. You pay on the secure Lava page; a card is never entered on chessnavio.com. Automatic renewal is not offered on this site. Installing the extension, the Free allowance and game review stay free.
Which browsers work?+
Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Yandex Browser. You install it from the Chrome Web Store. Firefox and Safari cannot load this build.
Why did nothing happen on a page with a board?+
ChessNavio only starts hinting once it recognises your own game, or once you explicitly start a practice session. Nothing appears in a lobby, a broadcast, a preview or somebody else’s game.
